Export question

Hello again, folks.
I am migrating our embedded database from one version of our software to another. NOT ORACLE versions. :)
For testing the process I use a dump file with some preconfigured set of data. I am getting primary key violation error when I load data from one table into newly created one. Everything works fine if I don't use a dump file but recreate the same set of data manually. Can exporting/importing somehow affect the data? I've used dump files with predefined data many times before and never had such problem.
