Home -> Community -> Usenet -> c.d.o.server -> NT 8.1.7.0 - ora-1403, but what file??
Hi, all -
On a newly-installed 8.1.7.0 db, I managed to mess up the password file. Followed the Metalink note to recreate it, appeared to work correctly, except the database refuses to open after the database is recovered.
The alert log shows:

ORA-1403 signalled during: alter database open...
ORA-1403 is 'data not found'. Now to judge by the alert log, one would think the database is open, however any attempts to log on get an ORA-1033 (Oracle initializing or shutdown in progress) error. Metalink is not much help here, unfortunately. Has anyone seen this? Is there a workaround?
TIA - Regards,
