Home -> Community -> Usenet -> c.d.o.server -> deleted some control files but not all
Hello,
I have done something stupid. I'm running performance tests in a large
scale and to gain a tiny little bit of performance I did this:
1. shut down the database.
2. edited my init.ora, I removed two of the four control files that I
had.
3. deleted these two control files physically (didn't even take a
backup)
4. tried to start database, doesn't work...get this error:
ORA-01092: ORACLE instance terminated. Disconnection forced
I have tried to start the database using only one of the two control files that I have left but then I got in one case: ORA-01092: ORACLE instance terminated. Disconnection forced and in the other case:
ORA-01122: database file 1 failed verification check ORA-01110: data file 1: '/db/ba/system/BA01/system.dbf' ORA-01207: file is more recent than controlfile - old controlfile
Does anyone know some quick way to get around this? If it takes a lot to fix it I can just as well create a new database since I'm only running tests. I have no back-up of this database.
Grateful
/Mikael
