Well they are using OS authentication.
Youd did not specify the OS on which you installed Oracle. SO if Unix any user who is a member of dba group (of course the name need not be dba) can login as sysdba using OS authentication. In Windows, any user who is a member of ORA_DBA group can login as sysdba using OS authentication. Received on Fri Aug 09 2002 - 23:57:00 CDT
