Installation over crashed installation possible ?

Hello,



a friend of mine tried to install Oracle 8.1.7 on his W2K PC (a little old,
but it should still do it)


, and his installation was hung before getting ready. The Oracle Services
(oradim etc) were not created.



Is it possible to run a new installation rigth over it, or is a prior
deinstallation necessary ?


I never had such problems during installation.
