my con's

usually you could configure how long the data should stay there. Also i think there is a write throu flag.

I' not shure if redo's should be local,
having here ops, and the redos are on SAN with no problems (W$DOW2k/Ora817).

One set of Arch's are local in case my admin has a bad day and hacks with his 9.6KBit Terminal Program the disc to a different space and time and server.
