As an ex-Oracle employee I worked at the Technical support department in
Belgium (BeLux org.) and later gave about 30 different courses to some
thousands of people (15people/day * 200days/year ...) and some of my
students got certified later, but personally I do not believe that a
certified person is any better than an experienced one, as the certification
exams are too theoretical and often focus too hard on new, fancy things that
nobody is using but Oracle wants to sell ...

Courses at Oracle CAN be good, depending on the instructor, experienced
instructors are VERY good at Oracle, but if you get a junior instructor, you
can better buy some good books and read USENET ... it'll be cheaper and more
interesting !!

Good Oracle experts do not need any certification certificate to get a job
!!
