Hi,

I'm planning to install Oracle 8.1.7 on Solaris 8. We only have ufs. I'm thinking about raw devices versus file based Oracle, a topic beaten to death in this newsgroup and I'm well aware of the pros and cons.

I'm just trying to gather if there is any comment to using an ufs filesystem with the -logging option , disk_asynch_io set to TRUE, and _filesystemio_options set to directIO.

Thanks for any insight,

/Gerold
