Sounding pedantic, I know...
you have your versions wrong: Oracle Applications (as
it used to be called - it's something like eBusiness Suite now)
has versions 11.x (11.5 is the latest).
Oracle Application Server (also an old name...) is V1.x.
It is now known as 9iAS (internet Application Server, part of
the iSuite suite).
9iAS is availbale on linux, as is 9i - 8iR3 (aka V8.1.7) runs
fine, too.
Apps is another game - if Oracle tells you don't, I wouldn't;
you probably end up without support - and believe me, you want
support!
