Home -> Community -> Usenet -> c.d.o.server -> help with large export on Solaris
I have a 17 gig Db (8.1.5) on a Sun box I'm trying to export, there is about
9 gig free space where I want to put it. Since most of my other exports are
about 37% of the size of the database, I thought I'd have enough room by
specifying 4 2gig .dmp files when exporting.
Trouble is I'm now getting a segmentation error before it gets through the first .dmp file, there is no error# reported or anything else in the log file.
I'm wondering if I might be better off to try a compressed export, which I think there are some scripts floating around out there to do this.
I'm also running the export from OEM, but can I point the location of the .dmp file(s) on my local NT machine that I'm running OEM on? Or would I have to do a share on the local drive, map it from the SUN box etc...
Just wondering what the best approach is for this.
