RMAN, Veritas Hot Backup

I'm trying to setup a Vertas hot backup, and getting errors that the files are changing too fast for the Veritas system to get good copies.

Right now I've got the default 6 sec timing set. The Veritas help says to Increase this time constant if I've got this problem, and that seems backwards to me.

Anyone out there that can give me a pointer on how to tune Veritas? Or do I need to tune my Oracle installation to better work with Veritas?
