export fails on 8.1.7.2 - bug 1874468

Hi,


Full export fails on 8172 on NT with folowing error:



EXP-00008: ORACLE error %lu encountered


ORA-01406: fetched column value was truncated



Thi is related to bug 1874468 which is possible to fix by upgrading to
Oracle 8.1.7.3. But our application is certified only to run on 8.1.7.2.1
for now. Is there any fix for that bug which does not need to upgrade?
