Home -> Community -> Usenet -> c.d.o.server -> Re: Have DB Writer Retry Writes to the Control File
We are backing up to tape using Veritas. It is a general backup of all
system and application files. We would really like to keep backing
them up this way if we can. The network admin doesn't really want to
have to go in and tell the backup program and the virus scanning
software (Norton) to skip a bunch of files. We have 3 total control
files. So far, they are all on the same drive - dumb I know, but the
3rd party software installed Oracle that way. We will be moving them
in the near future. We have also run into this error with the Index
files as well, so it is not just the control file.
Thanks.
