Problems with the installation of Oracle 8i on Debian GNU/Linux

Hello out there.

I've a confusing Problem. I got the Oracle 8.1.7 EE CD and tried to install this

on a Linux 2.4.18 mashine. When the setup screen comes, i can only see the half
of this screen. The buttons and so on are there (i can point on them) but i
can't see them. The upper half is ok, i can see everything, but the lower one is

completely white.

I've although tried with Oracle 9i but its the same.

Please help.
