Oracle 9i Listener Crash on XP

Has anyone found a solution to the TNSLSNR crashing problem with Oracle9i on XP. It allows connection through SQL*Plus or ODBC, but crashes immediately after connection succeeds. The connected session works fine, but to make another connection, the TNSLNR must be restarted. Each time a connection is made, the listener crashes.

I'm currently running Oracle9i on XP Home Edition and I am aware that Oracle9i is only certified for XP Pro. However, I've read several comments about this same behaviour on XP Pro. Other than the listener bailing out, everything else seems to work fine. Restarting the listener each time gets around the problem, but it's a real pain.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.
