Kinna,

to remove Oracle 8.0.4 without the installer is messy, but according to Oracle, this is what you have to do :

• delete the directory where Oracle is installed and all its contents. Personally, I'd keep a copy of tnsnames.ora, sqlnet.ora just in case.
• use regedit to delete the ORACLE tree from HKLM/software and also HKCU/software. (Backup the reg files first !)

Now you should be able to run the 817 installer.

Ok I now have a copy of 8.1.7. However, I am unable to install it as I have 8.0.4 client software already installed. How can I uninistall 8.0.4 as the remove button does not get enabled and there is nothing in Add/Remove programs.
