Listener crashing, 9i on XP Pro

I posted a message last month about how on XP Pro the 9i listener service crashed whenever it was contacted (via TNSPING, SQL*Plus, etc). This was on a vanilla 9i installation with the sample database and network config all created directly by the Oracle Installer; vanilla XP Pro too. A few suggestions were made to me which I looked into as far as I was able, but the problem has not been resolved yet.

Since then I've looked around on the web and seen that there are a few other people suffering the same listener crashing on 9i, XP Pro, so I'm not suffering alone.

Does anyone have information on whether this is now a recognized problem, and whether any solutions are available? Thanks. Received on Thu Feb 21 2002 - 19:49:48 CST
