Unicode strings or escape sequence with sqlplus

I have a Oracle 8i UTF-8 database on Solaris. All the non-Latin characters so far have been inserted into the database via JDBC.

Is there anyway to type in a Unicode string ( via an escape sequence of some sort ) in sqlplus?? I saw that Oracle9i has a function called UNISTR() ... but not available on Oracle8i.

Thanks. Received on Tue Feb 12 2002 - 00:48:30 CST
