Help: Problem with Windows 2000 and oracle 8.0.5 server

Please, hope somebody can help me:

When i try to install oracle 8.0.5 server under windows 2000 (with sp1 only) i get an error message, something with:

"...invalid path in verchk.ini..."

It's an problem with the ODBC driver and after i searched in the internet, i found out it's a known oracle bug:

So my question: Can i get oracle working just with sp1? Will only work after downloading sp2 (100MB!)? Is there some new installer i can try or some other hint?
