Good point about the installed products info not being in ORACLE_HOME.
So, here's the new plan .......
1. Shutdown all instances and stop listner 2. cp $ORACLE_HOME /u01/app/oracle/product/8.1.7.orig 3. cp $ORACLE_BASE /u01/app/oracle/admin.orig 4. De-install all oracle products 3. Install 8.1.7 SE 4. Copy over tnsname.ora, listner.ora, init<SID>.ora, etc ... from EEinstall to SE install
Any one see any problems with this?
