In the current market there is no excuse for lack of experience. You go to store.oracle.com and purchase the Oracle software for $39 US. You go to the bookstore and spend a couple of hundred dollars on books. You go to the web and get support and examples. You go to user group meetings and find a mentor.

There is, in the current economy, an abundance of people with experience. No hiring manager worth a nickle would hire someone without it.
