Export to stdout

I use export utility to backup a database, and there is no space on disk enough for dmp file. Is there any way to export to standar output to filter it with a compressor utility like gzip.

something like:
export system/manager full=yes file=- | gzip > export.dmp.gz

any idea??

I have and 8.0.5 database running on a AIX 4.3 system.
