Hi,
I have a performance question about how oracle writes to datafiles. If I have a Tablespace (A) and I have 2 datafiles in it, each being on the same disk, does oracle attempt to write to both datafiles at the same time like a striped disk when inserts are being done? Or does it write to each datafile randomly filling each evenly as time goes on. Would there be a benefit to put each datafile on totally separate disks? Would there be a performance increase? Why, why not? If someone has a white paper on how oracle does this, that would be great. Thanks in advance... Received on Sun Jan 27 2002 - 22:53:22 CST
