The best gain is probably turning redo off (_disable_logging=true)

• provided that:
  1. You understand it is not supported.
  2. You understand that you will lose the entire database if there is a crash in the middle of it.
  3. You can rebuild your databaes if you lose it.
  4. You do not forget to change it back.

You can probably save 30% of the time. ( This seems to differ from version to version. In 7.1.6, I could save 60%, but in 8i, it is much lower ). Received on Wed Jan 23 2002 - 13:42:22 CST
