I unpacked it with gunzip and tar, no problem there...

I installed these:

  a.. compat-glibc-6.2-2.1.3.2.i386.rpm (CD1)
  b.. compat-egcs-6.2-1.1.2.14.i386.rpm (CD2)
  c.. compat-libs-6.2-3.i386.rpm (CD2)

Did I miss anyone? I´m asking a lot now, since I feel I´ve tried everything... I´m about to install RH6.2 on a different server to see if it´s easier.. then upgrade to 7.1, but what a stupid way to install oracle, right? :-)

DISPLAY is only nessecary if I´m _not_ on the local machine, right?

Do You see me miss anything? I must admit I´m about to make an account if anyone wanna dig into it themselves and look for "oddies"...
