Hi folks,

maybe you can help me with the following problem:

What happend:

The problem I couldn't fix so far:

When I start the Oracle 8.1 Installer to install or remove some software-modules the installer quits the installation procedure with a message like "Can not install in an existing Oracle 8.0 HomeDirectory".

I removed the Oracle 8.0 Entries in the registry (we only need the 8.1 databases, so I removed the 8.0 entries and renamed the ora80 HomeDirectory). After that I checked the environment variables and path settings, too. nothing should point to the oracle 8.0 anymore.

Tracing with FileMon and RegMon doesn't show anything with Oracle 8.0 anymore version\path. I can't figure out why the installer still complains about a Oracle 8.0 version.

Greetings
