Help - Oracle 8.1.7 Enterprise Edition - Universal Installer ends at 18% at SQLJ Runtime 8.1.7.0.0

Hi all,

I'm trying to install an Oracle database for the first time on NT4 (not a Pentium 4 PC!!!). I'm taking all the standard options for an Enterprise Edition installation. When the installer gets to 18%, installing SQLJ Runtime 8.1.7.00, it just stops running. The log provides no clue as to what is going on ending with :-

I've spent most of the day trawling through web pages trying to resolve this & have finally run out of ideas.
