Home -> Community -> Usenet -> c.d.o.server -> Best Practices Document
All,
I have been tasked with 'creating' a best practices (standards) document with
regard to Oracle databases. The target audience would be internal developers
unfamiliar with the Oracle environment. I definitely want to cover the system
user and system tablespace and not to use either, don't take any defaults
(hopefully to force them to think about what they are doing), to request only
system priviledges they absolutely need, bind variables where appropriate among
a host of other things. My question to the group is, does anyone know of the
existence of such a document and if it is publicly available? I know there are
a number of good books available, I've even read a few of them, but I want to
end up with something more concise that just summarizes the 'commandments'
(Thou shalt not create objects in the system tablespace!). If anyone want's the
meat behind the rule, I will point them to the appropriate resource.
As with everybody else, I don't have an abundance of free time. I was hoping to
find a complete document available or something to give me a big head start on
creating the finished document. If anybody knows of such a paper and could
forward the information, I would really appreciate it. Thanks in advance for
any help you can give.
