Hi I am installing Oracle 8.1.7 on Suse Linux 7.2, howevr the JRE in this bundle does not seem to work. SO before installation I changed the default JRE_DIR in oraparam.ini to /usr/lib/jdk1.1.8 ( my local jdk installation). The install ran smooth. However while doing a typical install Dbassist fails to load throwing errors like SIGSEGV received at bfffd530 in
/u01/app/prodcut/oracle/jre/1.1.8/lib/linux/native_threads/libjava Process terminated dbassist line 103 : 10469 Segmentation Fault

$JRE_EXEC -Duser.dir=USER_DIR -classpath $CLASSPATH DBCreateWizard
$ARGUMENTS .....
Any one can help me out on this ?

Thank You,

Gavin
