I actually logged a TAR with Oracle on this and was told that it was expected
behavior. Apparently, the background process does index maintainance which
causes the logging. My problem with it is that on my totally idle database, I
would see 2 gig of redo over a three day period. It seems a bit excessive
considering I never had a queue with over 100 messages in it.
