This scenerio is not too hard I think ... Reinstall Win2K - Install Oracle 8.1.7 from CD - recreate init.ora/pwd%SID%.ora (orapwd) - recreate Oracle services : oradim -new -sid %SID% pfile 'd:\oracle\ora817\admin\%SID%\pfile\init%SID%.ora' etc - copy controlfiles from E to D&E
- recreate mirrors of redologs

Reinstall Oracle 8.1.7 software
Recreate init.ora/pwd%SID%.ora (orapwd)
Services should be intact
copy controlfiles from E
recreate mirrors of redologs
