Hi riccardo,

there is a misconception: Bind variables and physical reads have no direct relation. To check for the high number of disk reads you have to look at your sql statements. Are all the necessary indexes in place? It seems to me your doing full table scans. You also mention that the second time the query runs faster. This seems to to verify this assumption. Do a explain on the corresponding statements and look for full table scans
