Using DBMS_SESSION package

Has anyone used the IS_ROLE_ENABLED function in this Oracle
supplied DBMS_SESSION package?  I have a developer who is
wanting to try to enable application level security in the
Oracle database.


The main reason is because the front end to this database is
(Ugh) Access.
