The "real point" is, is this product of use?
The real answer is, yes it is.
Quibbling about how Oracle stores its numbers, for example (the site's point number 1), is a classic example of wondering how many angels can fit on the head of a pin. The fact is, it *does* store numbers, and the lack of a "float" data type is no obstacle to it being used in scientific circles.
The quibble looks meaningful (after all, his point number 2 says that it will make Oracle run slowly). But it's not (Oracle will outpace most databases on any platform you care to mention). Even benchmarks (which I generally loathe) show that.
Anyway, I've yet to encounter a single "nightmare" or source of unending grief. Of course Oracle's not flawless. As you say, neither is Sybase, nor any other product. And that's the real "real point".
