Hi there,

what does the Oracle Failsafe exactly do with regards to the controlfile ?

need to move a large amount of datafiles to another location.

The system is a Microsoft Cluster NT4.0

I want to do a "alter database backup control file to trace resetlogs" !

and then

modifying the tracefile according to the new datafile location.

After that i would do a @control.sql in nomount mode and open the database by executing alter database open resetlogs !

Has the Oracle Failsafe got something to do with that at all ?

Regards.
