You are talking about Bleeding Edge technology. I for one would not be eager to but my job & my company's future on it just yet. This is a classic cost benefit trade-off analysis. I'd say that the choice would depend upon the stability of the existing whole "database environment". If you are constantly crashing or rebooting now, going to RAC might not make things worse (then again it might). If you are rock solid stable now, I'd bee less inclined to jump onto RAC at this point in time.
