Home -> Community -> Usenet -> c.d.o.server -> setup problems in RedHat 7.1
Hi everybody,
Im trying to install oracle 8.1.7 on a redhat linux 7.1
Ive checked the postings and the internet and by now i know it's not
an easy cake.
My problems is, when I run runInstaller, triggers the jre and then
stops complaining cannot find libjava.so
"error loadin shared libraries: libajava.so"
Ive gone through installation procedures, created the user, the groups dba, oinstall, installed compat*, set manually the oracle user environment but still to no avail.
Ive even iinstalled manually a JRE version and made a symlink so jre can be found at /usr/loca/jre
From what I see in my error message I see that the jre used is the one
in the cdrom, and this library libjava.so does not exist in the cd. On
the other hand this library is present in the jre version present in
my hard disk, in the green_threads folder.
I see that in the cdrom it looks it up in the native threads folder
which is empty.
Im stuck with this.
Id appreciate any good advice.
Thanks a bunch
Regard,
Gonzalo Morales
