Home -> Community -> Usenet -> c.d.o.server -> Oracle 9i for Windows NT/2000 available for download on technet
Dear *,
it's finally there: http://technet.oracle.com/software/products/oracle9i/htdocs/winsoft.html
I downloaded it yesterday, all three zip-files. Installed enterprise edition (software only) on my PIII 600 Mhz Pentium, with 128 Mb Ram. Smooth install, no problems at all. The installer eated no virtual memory; used memory didnot exceed the 115 Mb. Oracle software tree now takes 1.16 Gb; 63.879 files in 3096 folders. I have removed the data warehouse and oltp demo databases, which took about 0.5G (%ORACLE_HOME%\assistents\dbca\templates\*.dfj).
Created a database manually this morning: no problems encoutered at all.
I did install Oracle 9i before, on RedHat 7.1, on another partition on the same laptop. That install was troublesome and took way more time. so, oracle did a good job on the NT port.
Kind Regards,
Herman de Boer. Received on Wed Sep 19 2001 - 06:38:13 CDT
