Incremental Export

Hi all,

Does anybody know whether the Incremental, cumulative, and complete Exports will be phased out in a subsequent release? If the answer is yes, does this mean we should (only??) use Recovery Manager for database backups? Can this backup suitable to import to another DB on different platform (e.g. AIX and SuSE Linux)?
