Home -> Community -> Usenet -> c.d.o.server -> Oracle 9iAS, NT, Firewalls, Internet re-directs and an Apache newbie!
Hi,
We're setting up Oracle 9iAS on NT for use as a web-server/database combination - it uses the Apache http server.
We've an Internet IP name/address that is being directed towards our firewall and then 'converted' to the machines actual IP address.
The server does not have access to an Internet DNS.
Everything works OK when serving static html pages, but when we try to access the Oracle side of life e.g. the mod_plsql configuration screen the URL shown is not the Internet one but the machines own name e.g. the url is of the form \\webserver\ rather than \\www.ourdomain.com .
What configuration changes are required to make this happen? I suspect that I should changing all the httpd.conf servername references from our local name to the Internet name and then adding the Internet name to the NT hosts file so that it can find itself? Or should I just add the Internet name as the machines DNS name in the NT network/TCP protocol?
To further complicate matters, we eventually intend to have multiple webservers in some form of load-sharing arrangement.
Any thoughts or references to the relevant documentation would be much appreciated.
Andy
