Shutdown Problem

Hi,

I ran a shutdown command against our database through a telnet session. Unfortunately our firewall was rebooted and I lost the telnet session to the server - the shutdown command hadn't completed.

I cannot reconnect to Oracle - it reports the shutdown is in progress, but that was some time ago. Is the shutdown still in progress or will the shutdown have failed with the lost telnet session.

thanks in advance,
