I've tried to go beyond 2GB with 32-bit AIX and EVERY time it passed 2GB I got data file corruption. When I called support they finally told me to keep everything under 2GB on 32-bit AIX (this is with O8).

On a related note, I saw a post (possibly here) that said that on 32-bit systems that the >2 GB file support is emulated by software and shouldn't be trusted. My experience would concur with this advice.

But as always, YMMV.
