Tank you very much for your suggestion.
I went on the server machine, where everything works fine and looked at the NLS_LANG variable: "AMERICAN_AMERICA.WE8ISO8859P1". On the client machines the same variable was set to: "ITALIAN_ITALY.WE8ISO8859P1".
I just changed the variable on the clients to be the same of the server "AMERICAN...." and now everything works!!!

Wich was then the problem?
Did I solve the problem in a definitive way just changing the variable in the registry?
It was so simple...but so difficult to find out and troubleshoote.....
