Are you sure you want to use export? You have to take the db down and do a cold backup. If you need to do a cold backup, you could back up the tablespace files themselves. Also, the control file, the init files and so on. Perl is a good language to use (especially on MS systems, where you have no sheel except cmd/bat), combined with SVRMGRL to connect.

Do you want to run in hot backup up. If you do, you'll have to run in archivelog mode, with automatic archiving on. Then, to do a backup, issue a statment to put each tablespace into backup mode (alter tablespace xxx begin backup) then copy the tablespace file(s) to tape, then put thefile back into normalmode (alter tablespace xxx end backup). You would haveto find a way of saving the archivedlog files and deleting the old ones.

As for the scheduling, use crontab on Unix or AT comand on NT/Win2k. There's quite a lot to know about backup, si buy a book.
