The cheapest and perhaps most secure work-around to this brain dead requirement is to install SSH and VNC on both ends. http://www.zip.com.au/~roca/ttssh.html

If your client platform is Windows, you might also try Cygwin which provides Xfree86 and openssh software. http://www.cygwin.com/
