How much physical memory do you have? I think you need 128Mb to 256Mb to install.
Have you applied all the Microsoft Service Packs (6 I think is the latest).
Do you have any other Oracle bits laying around? If so remove them.
Anyway, when it fails to start bring up Task Manager, (Control-Alt-Delete
and select it),
then look at applications and processes to see if its just being very slow
to load.
