The "rule" I was talking about is the Rule of Orthogonality. It existed even before SQL is invented as a universal principle. Orthogonality is not invented by IBM. Mathematical principles are not created by Standards, they exist as universal truths.

It's funny when you say, "Connect By" is a "rule" that IBM "broke".
