Yes it's possible, in theory.
Unfortunately, if you simply restore everything from the backup, you will have a beautifully consistent database at time January 27th, and recovery will not be prompted for, nor possible.
What you need is the control file and or datafiles from January 29th, then restore ALL the datafiles from the backup of the 27th. Then it's a simple 'recover database until <time string>' command.
If ALL you have is a consistent backup at the 27th, I can't see how you can provoke recovery, though.
