How to install Oracle Parallel Server

Can I run OPS on a single Sun box?

Can I install and test the Oracle Parallel Server on a single Solaris machine? I just want to set up two instances sharing the same set of datafiles created on raw devices.

I have 8.1.6.0.0 installed but v$option shows parallel server feature not enabled.

I have the installation CD but can't find the parallel server feature install box anywhere. Is it hidden due to me lack of hardware?

The OPS preinstallation document states that I need to install vendor supplied Operation System Dependent layer. What is this and do I absolutely need it before I can enable the OPS feature?

Please Email me directly at andrew.au_at_mbs.gov.on.ca as well as posting here. Thanks in advance for you help. Received on Thu May 31 2001 - 20:31:10 CDT
