I'm not sure how I can answer your question without having you read the manual. But here goes...

Go to Technet (http://technet.oracle.com) and read the Oracle 8i Migration Guide
(http://technet.oracle.com/docs/products/oracle8i/doc_library/817_doc/server.817/a86632/toc.htm). It contains all the information you'll need to know. But you'll have to read the manual to get it!
